The two needlepoint shops we can confirm in Maine are both on the southern coast, about thirty-six miles apart. Destination Needlepoint is in Kennebunk, about twenty-four miles southwest of Portland, and Grace Robinson & Company is in Freeport, about twelve miles northeast of it.
They are different kinds of shop. Destination Needlepoint is a needlepoint shop with a studio to stitch in, and Grace Robinson sells knitting yarn alongside its needlepoint.

A shop and stitching studio in Kennebunk's Lower Village, a short walk from Kennebunkport, founded by Laura McCullough. Hand-painted canvases, threads, and accessories, with finishing, a lounge to stitch in, and a rotating calendar of classes, lessons, and trunk shows.
Open every day of the week, until 6pm from Wednesday to Saturday, and there is plenty of parking on site.

Knitting and needlepoint under one roof for over twenty-seven years, with canvases, needlepoint kits, fibers, and a deep stock of yarn. Grace or Irina can help with any project bought in the shop.
A combined knitting and needlepoint shop rather than a needlepoint-only one. It is on Route 1 south of Freeport village, and it closes at 3:30pm.
Seeing both in one day
From Tuesday to Saturday both are open. Grace Robinson closes at 3:30pm, so start in Freeport and finish in Kennebunk, where Destination Needlepoint stays open until 6pm from Wednesday to Saturday.
On a Sunday or a Monday, Destination Needlepoint is the one open.

- Bring a project to Kennebunk. Destination Needlepoint's lounge is there for stitching, and its classes and trunk shows run on a rotating calendar.

Not one we have been able to confirm. Grace Robinson in Freeport is about twelve miles northeast, and Destination Needlepoint in Kennebunk about twenty-four miles southwest.
Is there a needlepoint shop in New Hampshire?
Not one we have been able to confirm yet. Older listings name shops there, but we could not confirm that any of them is open to walk into today. If you know one that is, tell us and we will check it.
Can I get a finished piece made up?
Destination Needlepoint offers finishing. Grace Robinson does not mention finishing on its site, so ask there.
