Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 24, 2026

Local Needlepoint Shops ("we," "us," or "this site") operates needlepointlns.com. This page explains what information is collected when you visit, how it's used, and the choices you have. By using this site, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

When you search for shops near you, the ZIP code or town you type, or the location your browser shares through its "Use my location" prompt, is used inside your browser to measure the distance to each shop. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, and it is not stored. The map only asks for your location when you press that button. If you allow it, your browser may remember that, and you can withdraw the permission in your browser's site settings at any time.

If you email us directly, we'll have whatever information you choose to include in that message (such as your email address and its contents).

Cookies and Similar Technologies

This site and its third-party partners use cookies and similar technologies (such as web beacons and local storage) to operate features, remember preferences, and support advertising, as described below.

Analytics: Google Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4, measurement ID G-4LWF2P0WTM, to understand how the site is used and which pages are worth writing more of. It runs on every page, including this one.

Google Analytics sets cookies and receives your IP address, the pages you visit, how long you stay, the site or search that sent you, and general details about your device and browser. We use it in aggregate. We do not use it to identify individual visitors, and we do not combine it with any other information about you.

You can read how Google uses data from sites that use its services, and you can opt out of Google Analytics entirely with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising: Google AdSense

This site may display ads served by Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites on the internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and/or other sites.

You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices. For more on how Google uses data when you use our site, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

The Shop Map

The map on the homepage is drawn from our own files. Viewing it or searching it sends nothing to Google or any other map service. To find a ZIP code or town, your browser downloads a list of their locations from our own files and looks yours up itself.

Two kinds of link on the map lead to Google Maps: each shop's "Directions" link, which carries that shop's address, and, where no shop is near you, a link to search Google Maps, which carries the ZIP code or town you searched. Nothing is sent to Google unless you follow one. Once you do, Google's Privacy Policy applies.

Affiliate Links

Some guide pages contain Amazon affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases made through these links. Amazon may set its own cookies when you click through to track referrals; we don't control or have access to that data. See Amazon's Privacy Notice for details.

Third-Party Links

This site links to external sites (shop websites, Google Maps listings, retailers). We aren't responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites, so check their own policies before sharing information with them.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Choices

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking cookies may affect how some features of this site work. You can also manage ad personalization directly through Google's Ads Settings or industry opt-out tools like aboutads.info and, for EU visitors, youronlinechoices.eu.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
