Needlepoint Shops in Vermont
Two shops in southern Vermont, one in Dorset and one in Manchester, about six miles apart.
The two needlepoint shops we can confirm in Vermont are both in the south of the state, about six miles apart. In Stitches Fine Needlepoint is in Dorset, and The Pine Needle is in Manchester Village. Route 30 runs between the two towns.
That makes them one trip rather than two. The thing to plan around is the day of the week.

Trading since 2006, with hand-painted canvases from a range of artists, the fibers to stitch them, and instruction. It is just past the village green, across from Maple Hill Cemetery, with more parking behind the shop.
The shop is closed from September 9 to October 13, 2026, and reopens on October 14. It asks anyone traveling from a distance to call ahead.

A new full-service shop in Manchester Village, with canvases, fibers, and accessories, and everything you need to kit a project.
Stitch Night runs on Wednesday evenings from 5pm to 7pm. Its site gives the Sunday opening time as 10am on one page and 11am on another, so call before a Sunday morning visit.
Seeing both in one day
From Wednesday to Saturday both shops are open, so any of those days covers both. Saturday is the shortest, because In Stitches closes at 2pm.
On a Sunday, The Pine Needle is the one open, until 2pm. On a Monday or Tuesday, The Pine Needle is closed and In Stitches sees visitors by appointment, so call ahead.
On a Wednesday evening, stay on in Manchester for The Pine Needle's Stitch Night, from 5pm to 7pm.

- Call before a long drive. In Stitches asks for it, and this fall it is closed until October 14, 2026.
- Bring the canvas if you have one. Thread and mesh have to be matched to the specific canvas, and nobody can do that from a photograph. See our thread guide for what that pairing involves.

Is there a needlepoint shop in Burlington or northern Vermont?
Not one we have been able to confirm. Older listings name shops elsewhere in the state, but we could not confirm that any of them is open to walk into today, so they are not listed here. If you know one that is, tell us and we will check it.
How far is it from Albany or Saratoga Springs?
In Stitches gives driving directions on its site, and puts Dorset at about an hour from Saratoga Springs and an hour and a quarter from Albany.
Can I get a finished piece made up?
Neither shop mentions finishing on its site, so ask when you visit.
