The Mobile area has two needlepoint shops we can confirm, both across the bay in Baldwin County and about twenty-two miles apart. Swanky Stitch is on North Church Street in Fairhope, about fourteen miles southeast of downtown Mobile, and Creative Needle Arts is on East 2nd Street in Gulf Shores, about thirty-six miles from downtown Mobile.
They are different kinds of shop. Swanky Stitch is a needlepoint shop; Creative Needle Arts covers every kind of hand embroidery, needlepoint among them.

Open six days a week, with Monday closing at 3pm. Closed on Sundays. The shop gives no phone number or ZIP code on its site, so we have printed neither.

A needlework shop for hand embroidery enthusiasts of all types, in its own words, from cross stitch and needlepoint to crewel, surface embroidery, and wool applique, with needlepoint canvases and kits, threads, patterns, and trunk shows.
A combined needlework shop rather than a needlepoint-only one. Thursday opens at 1pm and runs until 7pm. Closed on Sundays and Mondays.
Which one to go to
On a Monday, go to Swanky Stitch, the one of the two open that day, until 3pm.
For an evening visit, Creative Needle Arts stays open until 7pm on Thursdays, though it does not open until 1pm that day.
If you also do cross stitch or other embroidery, Creative Needle Arts carries supplies for those too.

- Swanky Stitch publishes no phone number. Its site has a contact form for questions before a visit.
