The Portland area has one needlepoint shop we can confirm. Northwest Needlepoint is in Lake Oswego, about seven and a half miles south-southwest of downtown, and it is a full-service shop: canvases, fibers, classes, stitching groups, and finishing under one roof.

Hand-painted canvases and a wide range of fibers, with classes for all levels, stitching groups, and finishing for any size of canvas. It can also order in what it does not have on the shelf.
Closed Mondays and Tuesdays, and open on Sundays. It closes at 3pm every day it opens, so go in the morning.
The hours are the thing to plan around
The shop opens Wednesday to Sunday, from 9am to 3pm. The Sunday opening helps if you work weekdays, but the early close means a lunchtime visit rather than an after-work one.

- Call ahead. With one shop in the area, there is no second option if the hours have changed.
- Ask about the stitching groups. They are the shop's way of meeting other stitchers, and a good way in if you are new to the area.
