The Orlando area has two needlepoint shops we can confirm, about four miles apart north of downtown. The Black Sheep is on North Orange Blossom Trail, about seven miles northwest of downtown, and Needle Orts is in Altamonte Springs, about ten miles north.
The Black Sheep is the one open most days, from Monday to Saturday. Needle Orts, which carries cross stitch as well as needlepoint, opens from Wednesday to Saturday.

Founded in 1972 in Winter Park by five friends, and bought in 2025 by Cynthia Brumback and Leigh Ann Horton, two lifelong customers who learned to stitch there. Canvases, threads, classes and events, and self-finishing pieces.
Now on North Orange Blossom Trail, northwest of downtown; some retailer lists still show its old address on West Fairbanks Avenue. Open six days a week and closed on Sundays.

A needlework shop with needlepoint canvases, cross stitch charts, fabrics, fibers, and unusual accessories, plus classes, finishing, and special orders.
A combined needlework shop rather than a needlepoint-only one. Stitch-ins run on Wednesdays and Saturdays, at a large stitchers' table overlooking the lake.
Which one to go to
On a Monday or a Tuesday, go to The Black Sheep, the one of the two open then.
From Wednesday to Saturday both are open, and at about four miles apart they make one trip.
If you want to sit and stitch with others, Needle Orts holds stitch-ins on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

- Neither opens on a Sunday.

Is there a needlepoint shop in Winter Park?
The Black Sheep began in Winter Park in 1972 and is now on North Orange Blossom Trail. Novella Needlepoint describes a shop in Hannibal Square on its site, but gives no street address, so we have not listed it. If you know the address, tell us and we will check it.
Can I get a finished piece made up?
Needle Orts offers finishing. The Black Sheep sells self-finishing pieces, so ask there about finishing a canvas for you.
