Two shops in the northern suburbs about seven miles apart, one in Carmel City Center and one on Main Street in Zionsville.
The Indianapolis area has two needlepoint shops we can confirm, both north of the city and about seven miles apart. The Proper Stitch is in Carmel City Center, about fourteen miles north of downtown, and Persnickety Stitchers is on Main Street in Zionsville, about fourteen miles northwest.
They are different kinds of shop. The Proper Stitch is a needlepoint shop, and Persnickety Stitchers carries cross stitch alongside needlepoint.

It is on the Plaza level of Carmel City Center, one level up from the street, two doors from The Cake Bake Shop. The shop says its street address sends navigation apps to the street below, and suggests navigating to The Cake Bake Shop instead. Closed on Mondays.

Which one to go to
On a Sunday, go to The Proper Stitch, the one of the two with Sunday hours, from noon.
For an evening, each has one: The Proper Stitch until 7pm on Wednesdays, and Persnickety Stitchers until 8pm on Thursdays.

Not one we have been able to confirm. Both shops are about fourteen miles out, north in Carmel and northwest in Zionsville.

The Proper Stitch offers finishing. Ask Persnickety Stitchers, and ask about timing well before a holiday.
