The Coastal Stitch, on West Queen Street about 0.6 miles west of the middle of Edenton, is the needlepoint shop we can confirm in town. Its site calls the Queen Street shop its new retail location, opened in October 2026, and it carries canvases, threads, and beginner kits and teaches Needlepoint 101.

It opens Tuesday to Saturday, with Saturday ending earlier than the weekdays.

The Coastal Stitch opens Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 5pm and Saturday from 10am to 3pm, and is closed on Sundays and Mondays. Nothing runs into the evening, so on a weekday the visit has to fall before 5pm, and on Saturday before 3pm.

Is there a needlepoint shop in Hertford or Elizabeth City?

Not one we have been able to confirm. The Coastal Stitch is about eleven miles southwest of the middle of Hertford and about twenty-six miles southwest of the middle of Elizabeth City.

What about Windsor or Plymouth?

We have not confirmed a shop in either. The Coastal Stitch is about nineteen miles east of the middle of Windsor and about sixteen miles northeast of the middle of Plymouth.

Can I learn here as a beginner?

Its site says it teaches Needlepoint 101 classes, points to a calendar of classes and events under its Classes tab, and sells beginner canvases and kits.

What is the nearest other shop?
