Needlepoint Shops in Phoenix and Scottsdale

Four shops, two about two and a half miles apart in Phoenix and two about one and a half miles apart in Scottsdale, and one of them open every day of the week.

The four needlepoint shops we can confirm here are all north of downtown Phoenix. Family Arts on North 7th Street is about five miles north of downtown Phoenix, and Uptown Needlepoint on Arizona Biltmore Circle about six miles northeast, so the two are about two and a half miles apart. In Scottsdale, BeStitched is on Shea Boulevard, about eight and a half miles northeast of Uptown, and Quail Run Needlework is on East Doubletree Ranch Road, about one and a half miles southwest of BeStitched.

Uptown is the one open every day and the one with a regular evening, Wednesday until 8pm. The other three keep daytime hours: Family Arts and BeStitched from Tuesday to Saturday, and Quail Run from Monday to Saturday.

Which one to go to

After work, go to Uptown Needlepoint on a Wednesday, when it stays open until 8pm for Sip and Stitch.

On a Sunday, go to Uptown Needlepoint, the one of the four open. On a Monday, go to Uptown or Quail Run Needlework.

In Scottsdale, BeStitched and Quail Run are about one and a half miles apart, so from Tuesday to Saturday the two make one trip.

For finishing, go to Quail Run, which sends pieces to local and national finishers and lists purses, pillows, stockings, belts, ornaments, and rugs among the work it takes.

First thing in the morning, go to Family Arts, which opens at 9:30am.

For a class you can take from home, BeStitched teaches some of its classes online as well as in the shop.

Before you go

• Check BeStitched's calendar for evenings. Its stitch nights and movie nights are dates on the calendar, not standing hours.
• Book Uptown's classes a day ahead. Its site asks for registration at least 24 hours before a class.
• Bring the canvas if you have one. Thread and mesh have to be matched to the specific canvas, and nobody can do that from a photograph. See our thread guide for what that pairing involves.

Is there a needlepoint shop near Paradise Valley?

Quail Run Needlework is the nearest, about three miles east of the middle of Paradise Valley.

Is there a needlepoint shop in Tempe, Mesa, or Chandler?

Not one we can confirm. Uptown Needlepoint is about eleven miles northwest of the middle of Tempe and about twenty miles northwest of the middle of Chandler, and Quail Run Needlework and BeStitched are each about sixteen miles northwest of the middle of Mesa.

Is there anything in Tucson, Sedona, or Prescott?

Tucson has one, The West, on our Tucson page. We have not confirmed a shop in Sedona or Prescott.

Can I learn here as a beginner?

Yes. Uptown Needlepoint holds beginner classes on set dates, BeStitched books private beginner lessons in the shop with Lauren, and Quail Run lists classes and beginner-friendly kits.

Can I stitch with other people?

Yes. Uptown runs Sip and Stitch on Wednesday evenings, and BeStitched holds stitch nights on dates it posts on its calendar.
