Needlepoint Shops in Dallas and Fort Worth

Seven shops across the Metroplex: four in Dallas, one in McKinney, one in Fort Worth, and one in Cleburne.

Between them, Dallas and Fort Worth have seven needlepoint shops we can confirm, five on the Dallas side and two on the Fort Worth side. In Dallas, Mimi's Needlepoint is on West Davis Street, about three miles southwest of downtown; Needlepoint This on Lovers Lane and Saville Needleworks in Snider Plaza are both about five miles north, under a mile and a half apart; and Creative Stitches & Gifts is on Preston Road, about ten miles north. Stitch on the Square is in downtown McKinney, about thirty-one miles north of downtown Dallas.

On the Fort Worth side, The French Knot is on Bryce Avenue, about three miles west of downtown Fort Worth, and Fancy Stitches is in Cleburne, about twenty-eight miles south. The two sides are more than thirty miles apart, so plan a day on one side or the other.

Which one to go to

On a Sunday, go to Stitch on the Square in McKinney, the one of the seven open that day, from noon to 4pm.

After work, Stitch on the Square is open until 7pm from Monday to Saturday, and Mimi's Needlepoint until 7pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

On a Monday, go to Needlepoint This, Stitch on the Square, or The French Knot. Saville Needleworks may be open too, but its site disagrees with itself about Mondays.

If you also do cross stitch, Creative Stitches & Gifts in Dallas and Fancy Stitches in Cleburne carry both crafts, and Stitch on the Square has cross stitch and embroidery supplies too.

Cowtown Needlepoint in Fort Worth is a finishing business rather than a shop to walk into. It finishes ornaments, signs, coasters, stand-ups, and flat pieces for acrylic trays, and teaches finishing in person and online.

• Parking on Lovers Lane. Needlepoint This warns on its site of construction on the street, and points to public parking nearby and a golf cart shuttle that runs from noon to 6pm, Monday to Saturday.

Where can I take a beginner class in Dallas or Fort Worth?

Several shops run one. Stitch on the Square has a beginner class with all supplies included, Creative Stitches & Gifts a Saturday class in basketweave, and Saville Needleworks and Mimi's Needlepoint beginner classes of their own; The French Knot's classes start at beginning basketweave. Each shop posts its dates on its site.

Is there a needlepoint shop in Plano or Frisco?

Not in either that we have been able to confirm, but two are close. Creative Stitches & Gifts in Dallas is about nine and a half miles south of the middle of Plano, and Stitch on the Square in McKinney is about thirteen miles northeast of the middle of Plano and twelve miles east of the middle of Frisco.

Do these shops do finishing?

Needlepoint This, Saville Needleworks, Creative Stitches & Gifts, and The French Knot all offer it, and Cowtown Needlepoint, above, is a finishing business. Ask about deadlines when you buy the canvas: Creative Stitches & Gifts, for one, wanted Christmas stockings by the end of August in 2026.
